Arnold Newman (photographer NY 1918 – 2006) once said:
“We do not take pictures with our cameras, but with our hearts and minds.”
The stories which our students present in this special edition, confirm the validity of Newman’s vision. Every one of these young photographers followed his/ her individual track. In search of a personal visual language, they gradually developed their own vision, professionalized their way of watching and followed their hearts. These factors, and not so much the camera as a technical instrument, contributed to the realization of the beautiful, intriguing and confronting images which we collected here.
